Diagnostic Mental Health Assessment Services
Children, Adolescents & Adults
FCRC of Ohio provides comprehensive diagnostic mental health assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Our evaluations explore emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and psychological concerns to help clarify symptoms, identify potential mental health diagnoses, and develop individualized recommendations for treatment and support.
Our assessment process considers the whole person, including personal history, current functioning, individual strengths, and environmental factors. Information gathered through clinical interviews, standardized assessment tools when appropriate, and professional evaluation helps guide diagnostic clarification and recommendations for next steps.

Understanding Diagnostic Mental Health Assessments
Mental health concerns can affect how individuals think, feel, behave, maintain relationships, and manage everyday responsibilities. Symptoms may include persistent sadness, anxiety, mood changes, difficulties concentrating, emotional regulation challenges, or changes in behavior. These concerns can present differently in children, adolescents, and adults.

A diagnostic mental health assessment helps identify the nature of these concerns and determine whether symptoms are consistent with a recognized mental health condition. The evaluation considers personal history, current functioning, environmental influences, and individual strengths to develop appropriate diagnostic impressions and recommendations for treatment and support.
What to Expect During a Diagnostic Mental Health Assessment
The process may include an initial consultation about concerns and history, a clinical interview about emotional and behavioral symptoms, health, and daily functioning, appropriate questionnaires and measures, integration of findings, and feedback with individualized treatment or referral recommendations.

Changing symptoms or current support needs may lead someone to seek a fresh review of a previous diagnosis.

Symptoms may affect responsibilities, sleep, self-care, school, or work.
